Finding your perfect bra

Finding the perfect style and size of bra will make you look and feel instantly slimmer, taller and more confident. But when was the last time that you went for a bra fitting? We all know that statistically, 80% of women wear the wrong size. I always recommend ladies get measured every six months and at an independent retailer or larger store where there is a variety of makes to ensure you get the right one for you.

When you wear the correct sized bra:

1) Clothes fit better
2) You will feel supported
3) You will feel more confident
4) It will help your posture

Where to start with colour

You’ve had your colours analysed and now you are going to start on a wonderful colourful adventure, but I am often asked how to wear colour and where to start. Well, why not start small? You can inject colour through the use of accessories; a red bag for example, which can really lift a monochrome outfit.

Remember dark doesn’t have to mean black. There are good alternatives Charcoal, Damson, Pine, Chocolate and Purple will all add interest to an outfit, but make sure the colour that you choose is the right one for you.

Detail is a good way to add colour to your outfit but it doesn’t have to be full-on. The tapered stripe down a trouser leg for example. Subtle but interesting. And don’t forget print which is always an easy-win.

Perhaps look to changing your lipstick for one which was used during your consultation, It  really can make a such a difference but also have a large impact on how you feel and look.

Second hand September

This September you may have seen Oxfam’s pledge to encourage people to buy second hand/preloved clothing and help save the planet from fast fashion. Every week 11 million items of clothing end up in landfill. Throwaway fashion is putting increasing pressure on our planet and its people – it’s unsustainable. Now there’s something you can do to help. Join Second Hand September and pledge to say no to new clothes for 30 days. I have joined the pledge, and I know a few of my clients are joining me.
The timing may feel particularly difficult because the weather is changing and the new autumn fashions are flooding into the shops, so temptation levels are particularly high! But that’s the point. If you feel the need to add a few wardrobe updates this month, will you buy second hand instead? If you choose to take part, do let me know how you get on. I’d love to hear how difficult or easy you find it to stick to this pledge, and what you learn in the process.

Colour Psychology

I have just received a new book called The Little Book of Colour  by Karen Haller.  Karen talks about using colour psychology  to transform your life. I love this quote – ” What if I told you that all around you is something that can increase your motivation and positively influence how you feel? and It’s called Colour”  I  am really excited to start this and I will report back to you my findings.

Big Bloomers

I’d like to introduce you to a company called ‘Big Bloomers’ it has many products, but this is one which I wanted to share with you.  For some the problem of chaffing can be a concern on the hot summer days with dresses. As a result, this company provide anti-chaffing underwear, hence the title Big Bloomers.

Would you like to join a workshop, make new friends or get together with a group of friends, please look at the  following which are run from my studio, but some can be accommodated at a venue of your choosing.

Please get in touch to make further enquiries:
